Original World War 2 era folding survival machete issued to the US Air Force and Navy pilots. This type was usually carried in the seat pack attached to the pilot’s parachute harness. Regardless of the original intent, these machetes were very popular with the American GI’s and saw lots of auction in the Pacific theater of the War.
This survival machete was manufactured by CAMILLUS CUTLERY in Camillus, New York. The blade is intact but used as pictured; the tip is undamaged; the blade is sharp still. When fully opened the blade is nice and tight; blade lock is in perfect working order. Original metal blade safety cover is included (most of these covers had a tendency to get lost right away). Original black plastic grips are in good condition; no cracks; the handle is tight with no play. The machete is about 15-1/2″ / 39.5 cm opened; the blade is about 10″ / 25 .5 cm. The blade is sharply stamped CAMILLUS on the side. This original WW2 Camillus USAF Survival Machete has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way, it is in 100% original “as is” condition; these are the actual photos.
