In the Sebenza, Chris Reeve Knives makes one of the finest premium folding knives on the planet, and after more than three decades since its introduction, the Sebenza 31 has been continually refined through the years to maintain its position as arguably the best pocket knife ever.
Sebenza means "work" in Zulu and these knives are intended to do just that. Built with handcrafted care at a production level, the Sebenza 31 has earned a worldwide reputation for rock-solid performance and a 'bank vault' feel. It is the knife that introduced the world to the frame lock over three decades ago, formally named the Reeve Integral Lock, and they still do it better than anyone. The "31" model uses a ceramic ball interface between the lockbar and the blade for stability and longevity of the mechanism, which is even more long-lasting than the steel interfaces that the competition use.
The Sebenza 31 is currently offered with a CPM-S45VN hollow-ground blade at a 60-62HRC to retain a sharp edge with easy maintenance.
Dressing things up from the standard titanium handles, the Sebenza with inlays maintains the exacting precision found everywhere throughout this knife. Available choices include various woods or Micartas, each fit to exacting precision in the milled pockets machined into the front and back of the handle and held in place with VHB (very high bonding) adhesive.
As attractive as they are functional, the inlays give a little more girth to the handle for additional grip. Wood inlaid models are typically completed with a satin finish for both blade and handle, while Micarta versions are typically paired with a tumbled blade and blasted handle. A color coordinating thumb lug and lanyard tie post are chosen to complement the inlay material perfectly.
This is a pre owned knife. The knife pictured is the actual knife for sale. Comes in the original packaging with all accessories.
