The Original Archbishop Entry Level Flipper was a great way to get into a mid-tech Ferrum Forge knife without the high cost of a full-on custom. The knife still featured hand finishing, top of the line materials, and the superb fit and finish of all Ferrum Forge knives. It was a simple design with very few parts but it packed a whole lot of cutting performance into the subtly beautiful design. That Archbishop was still fairly expensive, even considering all the cost-saving measures Elliot and Chris put into the design. This led the two to turn to a new avenue to bring value to their customers without sacrificing quality and we think they've 100% succeeded with the Pro Series Archbishop 2.0.
The Ferrum Forge Pro Series of knives is manufactured in China by We Knives to very exacting and demanding standards. If you were to close your eyes and hold the Entry Level Archbishop side by side with the Pro Series Archbishop 2.0, you'd honestly have a hard time telling the difference between the two. It features the same fit and finish as the original with a drop-dead centered blade and incredible flipping action. Ferrum Forge has always had a unique action to all their offerings, it's hard to describe but those who own one will know what we're talking about. It's stiff yet buttery smooth, requiring absolutely no effort to fully deploy the blade every time. The handle is the same as the original, made from milled titanium and available in a variety of patterns and color options. The only differences between the two are that this blade is marked with M390 while the original was totally sterile and it includes an ambidextrous sculpted titanium pocket clip in lieu of a spring one — an upgrade in our opinions.
The other difference you'll notice if you own an Entry Level model is the ease at which you can unlock this Pro Series Archbishop 2.0. True Ferrum Forge models incorporate their own replaceable lockbar design, which is awesome, but the tension of the lockbar can sometimes make it difficult to fully move the lock face out of the way of the blade. You will not have this problem with the Pro Series. The lockbar tension is absolutely perfect, providing rock solid lockup while still being very easy to disengage. It wasn't a problem on the Entry Level Archbishop but it's something that the Pro Series Archbishop 2.0 has taken care of. The other thing we love about this knife is the price point. We've been seeing a lot of high-quality, high-value knives released recently but this might be the best of the bunch. For the money, even when compared to powerhouses like ZT and Benchmade, the Ferrum Forge Pro Series are some of the best knives available, period. This knife is an Entry Level Ferrum Forge knife made in China and would be worth the cost, even if it were twice the price!
This is a pre owned knife. The knife pictured is the actual knife for sale. Comes in the original pouch with all accessories.
