This is part of an ongoing passion project with our shop friend ColorfulFilth ( Paul Munko ), a renowned pop culture artist and Northern Knives. He saw that drawing and illustration wasn't being incorporated in high quality knife design. He felt the modern shape of most knives, their contours and curves, begged for a unique and elaborate design. It does so in the same way that a bare arm is the perfect real estate for a beautiful and elaborate tattoo.
Creating something that contours and flows with the knife makes it seem almost like it was meant to be there all along, and with this piece in particular he wanted to put a bold line along the edges to frame the drawing and give it an appearance similar to a Tarot card, all while accenting the shape of the scales themselves.
With our technical and mechanical prowess we were able to help Colorfulfilth execute his design and we are both thrilled with how it turned out. Since this is a fairly new segment of the knife community we are only doing a limited run as of this time. 8 of these knives will ever be made. Although there may be new designs in the future. ColorfulFilth has #1 of 8, #2 through #8 are available to add to your collection. This particular pattern and design will never be made again. On the reverse, where in the picture it states prototype, it will state which of the eight you have received.
With our in house anodizing technique we are able to get a very durable and tough anodized finish on all these scales that should stand bold and colorful throughout the years of every day carry use.
The Kizer Uprising features a utilitarian design for negotiating any and all of life's tasks. It has an ergonomically contoured titanium handle that rests at home in the hand. A lanyard hole and pocket clip provide comfortable carry options. The large clip point blade fires out of the handle with a flipper and Kizer's bearing pivot system. A titanium pocket clip finishes off this stellar Uprising series of knives.
