John then said something that both defined the word "tactical" and, most importantly, changed Ryan's design paradigm forever: "The situations this person finds himself in should determine what this knife is used for. If he needs to cut something, it cuts. If he has to pry a door open, it's a pry-bar. These are high-energy situations where every second counts. You can't carry everything you would like to carry; the knife will have to be able to complete a multitude of tasks."

In a perfect world, a soldier or law enforcement officer would have ready access to all of the tools and weapons he ever needed, but that just isn't possible. It takes more than an aggressive look or a gray and black finish to make a fixed blade a tactical knife. Remember, knives meet the needs of the soldiers and frontiersman as both a tool and weapon in the battlefield conditions they encounter. In Ryan's view, a contemporary tactical fixed blade should be able to withstand all modern battlefield conditions — areas ranging from the Salt Lake City, Utah, Olympics, to the Jungles of South America, to the rugged mountains in Afghanistan. The Drake is a compact version of RMJ's popular Wyvern, that is if you consider an 11" blade compact! Some might see a short sword and think "that's neato, but what would you use if for?". Well, for starters, we'd use this bad boy for cutting just about anything we want! The forward weighted balance makes the Drake excellent for chopping tasks. This is a light and fast blade weighing in at only 11.5 ounces! The super tough CPM-3V blade will take ridiculous amounts of abuse, and is perfect for all your hard use outdoor needs. The blade has a tungsten Cerakote finish for corrosion resistance and offers a low visibility look. The handle ergonomics are outstanding and work great with or without gloves. The contoured G10 handles feature a diagonal texturing for a not too aggressive but secure grip. The Drake includes a Kydex sheath for easy deployment when carried on your belt or backpack, and comes with Low Ride MOC straps, MOC rings and the High Ride MOC straps for a multitude of carry options.

These hand-textured 3V Syndicate Drakes are finished in Blackout Elite Cerakote with black G10 handles. They include a 3V Syndicate membership, walnut wood presentation box, a 3V Syndicate Leather Patch, and Copper Coin.

This is pre owned. The sword pictured is the actual sword for sale. Appears to have never been used or sharpened. The box has some light staining from storage but otherwise in perfect shape. Comes with all the original accessories, letters, patches, coin and retail packaging.
