Rehung Japanese Splitting Maul, 30" Straight Flared Gränsfors Handle ( 8lbs )

Antique Japanese made 8lbs splitting maul. Rehung on a quality Gränsfors straight 31" handle with a flared knob and and stippling at the end of the haft for less fatiguing splitting. It also has a metal shroud on the shoulder to help with wayward strikes and give greater longevity and use. The head itself is of unknown make, though it has tested out as a quality steel and has clear markings of the country of origin. As with all our rehung axes and mauls, we have re beveled the toe, bit and heal to give a consistent edge. We also do our best to remove any rust and make sure the head is sound.
